Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Schuet is extremely engaging, and the passion she has for literature is boundless. Despite being an AP class, AP Lit never feels overwhelming or too difficult. Instead, you spend the time talking to classmates and truly exploring hard hitting moral issues for yourself, while also becoming a master of the English language, almost without even realizing how much work you're actually doing.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course are the discussions. Every day you walk into class you can expect to learn something new from talking with your peers in gently guided discussions, both in small groups and as a class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to read! Depending on the books you choose outside of class, you will end up reading well over a thousand pages of literature by the end of the year (maybe several thousand!). Also, don't expect your first couple essays to be perfect. It takes time to become a good AP Lit writer, but it will happen, so don't give up!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course greatly improves your writing skills. I have only been in this class for 3 months, it's still the first semester, but I know that my writing has already gotten better. Ms.Schuet is great at what she does and she is passionate about it too, she is willing to help anyone who asks for it.

    Course highlights:

I learned so many more literary devices, how to spot them, how to pay attention to how the text sounds, and so much more. You also really get a look into the human psyche.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be proficient and don't wait until the last minute to do things. Take the time to make your work better. Always go in for office hours and don't be afraid to ask for help.
