    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

English 101 is a challenging but educational course that helps to get you prepared for college. In English 101, you learn how to write academically as Ms. Warne helps you to write argumentative papers about hot issues such as the presidential election, or college application essays you can submit with your various applications. English 101 is the best class you could take in South Fremont High School to prepare you for college.

    Course highlights:

The main thing we have worked on in this course is academic writing. We have studied various sources for each of our papers and learned how to determine if a source is reliable. We learned the various ways to cite sources in our papers using in-text citations and works cited pages for books, people we had interviewed, newspapers, and websites. We learned how to write a convincing argumentative essay using claim, evidence, and reasoning to logically outline our opinions and explain why we were correct in our ideas. Although difficult, this class helped me to learn many things about writing at a college level.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are planning on taking this course, know that you will work hard and fast. It can be very stressful at times and difficult. If you are a hard working student, you won't have to worry. If you want to be prepared for college and be accepted by more colleges, take this course. It looks good on applications and your writing will be much better than if you hadn't. Don't go the easy route. Take this class and you will really improve your writing and reading skills.
