Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Great class for anyone. The teacher was hands on and made learning fun. He encouraged us to visit him after hours with questions or to chat about the lesson.

    Course highlights:

You learn a lot about the human brain and how it works and why it works in that way. You learn why some people tick differently than others and how that effects their life. There is much to learn about how the brain is set up and how it works differently for some people than others. We watched TED talks, we talked about anxiety, depression and abuse, we learned how to brain sends messages.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention. He gives you a study guide- if it is not on the guide, it will not be on the test. He does his part by teaching and we have to our part by reading the chapters on our own time and discussing it in class the following session.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course invited students to not only dive into interesting course material, but it encouraged them to apply it in very relevant ways to the world around them, and more importantly, to their own thinking. If we are what we think, this course helps students know who they are and who those around them are.

    Course highlights:

One of the most interesting units in this course for me was the unit on psychological disorders. As someone who has suffered from mild mental illness, it was enlightening for me to better understand myself and more importantly taught me to be more compassionate to myself.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook thoroughly, but don't focus on the terms to memorize. Look at the bigger picture and all the connections between different ideas.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class was engaging and the professor interesting. All in all, it was one of the most interesting classes I have taken thus far.

    Course highlights:

We focused maily on the different psychological theories. We also talked about basic diagnostic strategies.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to go to class. You dont have to read the book very much but do read some of the articles he posts before class. He might ask you questions about them.
