Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course pushed me as a student to learn new skills, improve my reading comprehension and writing abilities as well, as well as keep my interest throughout the course length.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this course was reading all of the different literature on my own, then coming into class to be able to discuss the contents and analyze the passage.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to actually read the novels the class is reading. Yes, you could probably get by without reading them, but you do not get anything out of the class this way. Reading the novels is the only way to actually grow as a student.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Language and composition provides a way to improve ones own writing, and explains how to analyze the writing of others. Such tools I use on a regular basis.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was reading the ideas of others (ie. Ayn Rand, Thoreau) and then analyzing the implications of their philosophies.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to always to the reading, and be sure to approach all reading and writing with a critical eye.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You really will learn a lot in this class. I can very easily tell that I progressed in my essay writing from the beginning of the year to the end. Also, Mr. Cox is one of the best teachers out there, and is very experienced in the subject area.

    Course highlights:

This whole class is about writing essays! Even if you think you write well, like I did, you can still learn a lot from this course. You'll be able to work quickly and thoroughly.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen to the teacher's advice! He really knows what he's doing and is willing to spend a lot of time helping you, even after school.
