    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is a tough one due to the workload required. The content is very fascinating as it pertains to our nation and our people and that interest will guide you through the seemingly endless papers and assignments. If it was not for AP United States History my time management skills would be a fraction of what they are today. The rigor of that class not only prepares you for the exam academically but also for life in regards to managing yourself.

    Course highlights:

Learning the history of our nation was ultimately wonderful, and the overall highlight. Many classes before this skip over U.S. History because the curriculum does not pertain to it. However, here there is a full year dedicated to the story of us all and how we made it to today. I finally had the chance to learn what I had been waiting to for years.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Buckle down and put your noses to the grindstone. The class is tough but not impossible. It will be worth it once the course is done because your AP Exam scores will be through the roof due to all the work you have done.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I loved the course. Not only were you able to understand aspects often ignored or over-complicated in history, but the teacher was willing to actually form a relationship with students, making instruction more interactive and enjoyable.

    Course highlights:

While we clearly learn about the history of this country. I enjoyed learning and going into greater depth about many topics in history that are often times sugar-coated or oversimplified. For one, I learned more about the slaughter of Native Americans and the adverse effects of Thanksgiving. I also learned more about the Middle East as well as the causes of our multiple conflicts with them. With this knowledge, I was able to strengthen or form opinions on a multitude of civil rights issues that plague our nation today. We also learned about the policies of each US President as well as their faults and strengths. This gave me greater insight on what I believe and helped me modify my beliefs and eventually, my own political party. All in all, this course goes into depth about a variety of subjects without solely focusing on the events in history that directly affected US soil. This course connects you with real life and helps you form opinions and think about subjects you normally would not even consider. It is truly eye-opening.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

While the teacher provides enough resources, CrashCourse helped a lot, with understanding difficult subjects. Also, there are plenty of online websites, outlines of the APUSH textbook and chapter summaries that helped me understand (or replace shhh ;) ) our reading assignments.
