Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course covers the overall importance of the ocean, the waves, the earth's rotation, and other important aspects of our Earth that allow us to live the way we do, but we take them for granted. The projects allow students to have fun, while simultaneously learning the material for the unit.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed creating our visual notebooks because it allowed me to see information in a way that is more than just words on a page, but rather pictures with colors that connect ideas to each other. In addition, I enjoyed the trip to the coast of Georgia in which some students got to experience marine life in it's natural habitat.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate on creating the notebook because it is a lot of creative work. If you work on it on the days in which he gives you the assigned topic and you are able to finish the assigned topic at home, the notebook is easier to complete and the information is easier to retain.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is useful in every day life, as opposed to some classes where the material is not as useful in every day life.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this class that were most beneficial to me were the chapters on food and health. I ended up eating much healthier and smarter once I realized the risks of numerous food items that are sold to the public.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When taking this course, it is important to do outside research and pay attention to aspects of someone's life outside of the class. This class has rap world applications that can be used.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course presents a deeper understanding of how the environment works and what the world needs from human activity in order to produce a stable environment for all forms of life. Instead of merely learning of the life and nutrient cycles, this course discusses human impact, developing vs. developed country impact, and the importance of being aware of your own ecological footprint.

    Course highlights:

I learned the harmful effects of substances as commonly used as pesticides on the environment as well as how poverty and affluence can harm the environment. I also learned about the food that I eat and the possible chemicals that I consume on a daily basis without meaning to.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

My main piece of advice is to keep up with your notes and to study often. My teacher did not require for me to take notes in class, but the notes that I did take thoroughly prepared me for my tests and exams. If you do not study, this class will prove difficult because you cover a large amount of units in a short period of time.
