Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for those who have a strong passion for learning to write in depth papers with lots of commentary and analysis.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the occasional timed writings that we did about specific topics and writing styles that we learned in class. I learned how to become a more detailed writer by adding my own personal style.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say that annotating all of the readings that are assigned to you are really crucial towards understanding how authors use their own distinct styles in order to convey a message directed at their audience.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course changed me as a person. Ms.Hicks gave literature that was so enriching and she connected it back to real world examples. She gives you an outlet to actually voice your opinions and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was the diversity aspect. Our class was very diverse which added to the opinions and views of others. I grew as a person in this class because it allowed me to accumulate the opinions of others while also making mine stronger.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it. Ms. Hicks is the best teacher I have ever had and you will not regret taking this course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It will greatly help you in your reading and writing skills. It will advance you in thinking and reading analytically.

    Course highlights:

I have been reading and analyzing essays, speeches, and poems of famous writers like Pat Conroy and Maya Angelou. I've learned to think past the implicit meaning of the pieces.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it. In life beyond this course, you will be required to read and write and think and analyze. This will give you many helpful skills needed in the work force.
