Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because both the class and the professor really pushed me to be a better writer. This was my first English class coming out of high school and I was nervous about the transition, however, my English teacher really believed in me and my writing ability which gave me the confidence to excel in the classroom.

    Course highlights:

Before taking this class I had never written a critique or a critical analysis, which was required more than once throughout the semester. I had to learn what was required of these types of essays and then write my own. It was difficult at the time because I was unsure of what was required of the assignment. I spent many hours in the Writing Center getting help from tutors and it paid off. I am very glad that Professor Forbes pushed the work load because ENG 112 required many of the same assignments.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice I would give to anyone taking this class would be to go to the Writing Center whenever possible to have a tutor read over the paper before turning it in. I recommend that all English students do this not only improve their paper but to become a better writer. There were many writing assignments required in this class that I did not have experience with and getting help from a tutor bettered me as a writer.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Zollars is a wonderful professor. Her main goal is to empower her students and give them the freedom to discover their strengths and weaknesses in writing. She strengthened my writing abilities all around, and I am much more confident about my next English course because of her.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write much more professionally. The course as a whole was very broad and very helpful.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

As long as you pay attention, you'll do perfectly fine,

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Zollars makes sure you understand what you are working on and you normal don't get that on a college level.

    Course highlights:

We read this book called "Step Out On Nothing" and it was a great story behind it. What I learned from this class is that you cannot be lazy.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen to the teacher because she does know what she is doing. Make sure you do your class work and put in the extra hours at home.
