    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it particularly for any person whose desired career involves the knowledge and understanding of Chemistry. The AP variant goes more in depth, and fosters that one learns more. The added content adds valuable knowledge that leads to mastery.

    Course highlights:

The highlights would have to be the labs, as they are engaging and captivate one's attention. I learned about the fundamental concepts of chemistry like states of matter, intermolecular forces, reactions, and how to use chemical calculations to solve problems in a very detailed way.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take this course the semester after you take standard chemistry, as the knowledge will 100% be needed and waiting to take AP Chemistry will make you lose that knowledge. It is imperative that one studies a lot before quizzes and tests.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it challenges the student on a greater level than a standard course. The increased difficulty engages the students more and facilitates a deeper understanding of the material. Additionally, the class is engineered to parallel that of a college course, therefore preparing the student for possible future classes.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course would have to be the labs, such as hydrate demonstration experiment and the thickness of aluminum lab. These labs are the highlights because they break the monotony of lectures and textbook work, and due to their inclusive nature they stimulate the mind more. I

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Watching videos online is a great way to supplement your understanding of the material. Always ensure you take very thorough notes, taking into consideration things that may not initially seem important. Maintain organized notes, color coding in particular in very effective. Personally, I would suggest that one enrolls in this course during their sophomore year because most students took standard chemistry the year before. This means the information would be more in tact and easier to recall.
