Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

While there is a lot of vocab and content, the course is just so interesting! From the way people conform to their surroundings to the workings of the brain to the cool disorders, what you learn in class is so cool that you won't be able to keep it in the classroom. I know that I've certainly had long and amazing conversations with my family and friends about what we learn in class. If you're worried about tests and the AP title, just know that note taking and attention in class is already the biggest step you can take! Most of the vocab terms are actually very helpful in remembering the actual meaning of the word itself. However, even after all this you're wary of the AP title, taking the regular course is also very fun.

    Course highlights:

Honestly, you can't help but view the world differently after this course. Just from observing behaviors around you, you'll be able to identify motivation sources and so much more. Just recognizing that psychology is all about the biopsychosocial approach - there's just so much more going on in our heads than we can ever realize. I just love the class in general.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Taking notes by hand helps and there are so many available quizlets out there to help with the vocab. Beyond that, knowing how to apply terms in situations helps and gets better with practice. Also, actually doing the reading helps a lot.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you plan to be a Psychology major in college, I highly recommend dipping your toes into this class. It has showed me that psychology is not just about how we internally view society, it has also educated me on obesity, brain parts, sleep problems. Ms. Donaldson does an excellent job preparing you for your finals and college board tests!

    Course highlights:

Learning about obesity is so interesting. Obesity is such a mental issue, not physical. Also we covered a drug unit which was fascinating.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to read all the reading assigned! If you don't you won't do well on the reading checks!
