Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course for everyone. The material strictly follows textbook and FDA's nutritional meal plan guides. This includes the use of myplate.gov, which is a government regulated guide to caloric intake, energy output and lifestyle changes. While this may be the exact information some are looking for, it's not right for everyone because other scientifically researched recommendations also exist.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course for me was the unit on fats. We learned about each type of fat including its cellular structure, how it's reacts in human bodies and animal bodies. As well as what foods contain each type of fat, and why some fats are good for you while others are not.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure you can understand the material as well as understand that there may be additional information on nutrition that is not recommended in your text but is still found to be successful in many cases.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I thought this class was an excellent overview of nutritional advise that I have already applied to my day to day lifestyle. I would recommend this class to every RRCC student.

    Course highlights:

The class was very thorough in showing the nutritional aspects of all foods and recommending diet changes to enhance overall health and well being. We were able to also cook in the class preparing low calorie, nutrient dense foods that were delicious and healthy. The teacher was excellent and I would recommend her class to every student at RRCC.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you are prepared to study for the class and take excellent notes. the tests are tought but fair and you will come out with a great understanding of human nutrition.
