    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Organic Chemistry is something that all chemistry majors should learn to love. It is a lot of hard work, but once it clicks, you will become much more fluent in chemistry as a whole.

    Course highlights:

I became much more comfortable and knowledgeable with chemical reactions, how they occur, and why they occur.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't just memorize the material- it will be much more worthwhile if you understand the reactions, the mechanisms, and why they occur the way they do.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course teacher you to apply the things you've learned and all of the information builds on itself. So we never forget anything.

    Course highlights:

We learned to make many different compounds, how to name them, and how why certain reactions proceed the way they do.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Always practice, practice, and practice. Once you think you've understood all of the necessary material, try to go above and beyond afterwards. Then you will do great.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The lectures are not a huge help toward being successful on exams. If taking this class, I suggest meeting him in person to ask specific questions and to look at practice exams.

    Course highlights:

The book is helpful and explains concepts well. You definitely learn a lot in this course but you are learning on your own most of the time.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book, do all the book problems, go to office hours, and ask questions. You have to use all your resources.
