Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is an interesting class with a great teacher.

    Course highlights:

It was interesting learning how even though we see arranged marriages negatively some people in India actually like the idea of their parents picking their partner.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate on the reading! Most of the time it is very interesting but can be long.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would honestly recommend this class because it's not just a teacher standing at the front and rambling on and on. Most classes you wouldn't really listen and just focus on getting a good grade so you can leave but this class is different. In this class I was able to learn things by watching documentaries, having the notes, reading articles, and also having huge discussions in class.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course for me would be talking about social movements. I learned that there were different classifications on what could be a social movement or not. I also learned the reason behind one social movement and it brought a lot of things to light for me. I'm honestly happy that I can spend another semester in this class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Some advice that I would have for this class would be prepared to read a few articles on different cultures often. Another piece of advice I would have is keep an open mind to a few cultures and try to understand them before shutting all of it down. Make sure you participate in discussions and speak up if you don't really get something.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because not only is the teacher sweet understanding, but this class is a great way to explore modern day issues of around the world. However, you need to make sure that you are committed to the reading assigned in this class.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of valuable lessons about the modern world and it's societal and real world issues. Not only that but it is very fascinating to learn about other peoples' cultures and customs. Personally, my favorite topic so far was learning of the Indian culture and their customs and ways of living.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure that you are very committed to the readings assigned to you. Read them well and make sure to study your vocabulary words. And turn in all of your assignments.
