Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I love biology, especially human anatomy so I really enjoyed this class. Although lots of background knowledge is required, the new material is super interesting.

    Course highlights:

The best part of AP Bio is learning about the human body because when you know the origins of your health, you feel more empowered making knowledgeable health decisions.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

There is so much reading to do and the notes are extensive so have lots of space to take notes but make sure you aren't just mindlessly copying words into a page.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course, unlike many other courses, forces you to think. Students have to assess a problem using problem solving skills and formulas. It is so fun! The teacher does not make things easy for you, but he is always willing to give a little extra help.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed doing lab experiments the most. I learned how to follow instructions step by step, and think for myself when something didn't go right. I learned about the formation of crystals, different chemical combination reactants, and simple measurement devices.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to do well in this class, you need to ask questions. If you are ever stuck on a problem or do not understand something, ask the teacher or it will be impossible to move on. Also make sure to read the chapters thoroughly before homework and tests. Also refer to the textbook whenever you have troubles.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to any prospective science majors because biology teaches the basic mechanisms of life which are applicable in a variety of fields. Even for those who will study something not involving biology, I still recommend this class to those who love a challenge and want to learn more about life or their own body. So many general life questions are answered in this challenging, fun and fast paced course.

    Course highlights:

I love the units involving human body systems like the immune system and the cardiac systems because I am very interested in medicine.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Have a study plan from the beginning and read every page of the textbook. Biology is all about the details of mechanisms.
