Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course featured an emphasis on cultural memory, which includes a diverse spectrum of experiences people and groups of people remember and reflect upon. This was a significant topic that all classmates could contribute to, as we all came from different backgrounds.

    Course highlights:

The course taught students how to identify and interpret persuasive techniques used in informative writing regarding cultural experiences and memory. We also used skills learned in the class to compile sources in order to assert memories of our own in tandem with knowledge from outside sources.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Although many take this course for general education requirements, time commitment is necessary in order to complete all the assignments. However, the assignments and readings and enjoyable to complete, and most students in the class were very motivated to complete the assignments to the best of their writing abilities.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was challenging, enjoyable, and relatable. Of course, Professor Johnson did a fantastic job of incorporating reality and contextual ideas together so that each one of her students could succeed in her class by being able to draw connections from their experiences to concepts in class.

    Course highlights:

The main topic of this course was CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS. Contextual Analysis is looking at the text as part of a larger conversation by dissecting the author's background, publication of the text, and outside references that relate to the text. I learned how important it is and how valuable it is to really read a text for more than it is.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to do the homework, participate in class disscussions, and use the tools the professor gives you to succeed.
