    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this class. Professor Jang is an amazing professor who has the most intense passion for botany. He loves transcending his passion to his students and therefore engages the students. He is very, very helpful and is constantly keeping students on their toes by asking relevant questions that will make you think and analyze multiple situations at once. Most students think that biology is just memorization, but professor Jang makes students realize that it is all about critical thinking and applying what memorization knowledge we have to a whole idea/ concept.

    Course highlights:

Professor Jang lets students plant an herb, vegetable or fruit and around Thanksgiving conducts a little feast in which students bring in a dish or item that relates to the class. This was nice as this feast is conducted towards the end of the semester and not only do students relax a little mid- finals but we engage in discussions on regards to how each item applies to the class. A huge highlight for me was learning about plants' amazing properties on how to obtain nutrients and water, how to apply that knowledge to agriculture and the concept of transgenic organisms.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It will be harder if you do not learn to appreciate what you are learning. Love what you're learning and embrace it and the class will become so much easier.

    Course Overview:

The is class although challenging helps you see how the microscopic world works.

The material in the lab was the highlights for me because I love being hands on and learning about different species. I learned how the microscopic world can affect a human life with disease.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you have the time to study and really achieve the best you can in the course.
