Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend anyone who is considering taking AP Biology to do so. This course is a great introduction to biology for those who love science. It is rigorous with quizzes and tests frequently. However, the lectures are very informative and provide you with the essential knowledge needed for upcoming exams.

    Course highlights:

My favorite parts of this course were the lectures and labs. The lectures were amazing. The teacher was very funny and incorporated many biology concepts into her scenarios/jokes. The labs were different from other science labs. My classmates and I dissected a fetal pig and even removed its brain! This course has definitely taught me how important biology is.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes, LOTS of notes. Pay attention during class, do not doodle or get distracted. Always read the chapter or lesson before coming into class for the lecture. Do your homework, it is filled with tons of information that appear on quizzes and tests. All in all, use efficient time management and consider this as an amazing preparatory course for college!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I definitely recommend this course because it truly engages students on what is being taught. Whether it be through labs or videos, It educates the students thoroughly. The course demonstrates how all the learned material will apply in real life situations which will help students in the long run.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was definitely the amount of preparation. You will be well prepared for the AP exam at the end of the year. It focuses systems and system interaction, focuses on evolution, free energy ( for instance, entropy and enthalpy, etc. ), and our biological systems.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This class will definitely be one of the most time consuming courses. Therefore, leaving this class the last on your priorities to commit is a big no-no. Procrastination guarantees a crash on the long run since it takes so much dedication and work in order to prepare for the exam. All assignments are given for a reason for sure and should never be skipped. Group study sessions of no more than three would be helpful since it throws in so many ideas to one another to benefit students.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course especially for those wanting to pursue a career in science. It is a very hands on class with a lot of material. The lectures are much like what you would expect in a college setting. It is important to pay close attention to details while still grasping the basics of the information , but overall this course was great for my high school education.

    Course highlights:

This course taught me all I needed to know about biology and it better prepared me for chemistry and anatomy and physiology which were difficult classes as well. I did not pass the AP test but I finished the year with a good grade and passed the EOC with a good score.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to do a lot of work, but also keep in mind your other classes. Time management is critical to the success of this course. This class is meant for those who are hard working and have a drive to succeed.
