Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is fun and relatively easy going but also knows what she is talking about.

    Course highlights:

It opened up my eyes to what chemistry can beyond high school and how much more there is to know and learn about. There are some very cool reactions you get to do in the labs and it was one of the first times I felt like a real scientist.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice. Take the online homework seriously because it will help and is a good way to study

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is extremely difficult if you are not scientifically/mathematically inclined. HOWEVER, it is extremely interesting! Raola is a great professor and is very willing to help students outside of class.

    Course highlights:

The labs were definitely interesting, as well as the explosive demonstrations. I learned about all kinds of chemical reactions and what makes them happen. Honestly I learned way too much to list!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take Chem 42 before hand if you need extra help, its basically the same class but Chem 1A is much more in depth.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I was terrified of this course in the beginning... Literally to tears! I never imagined I would make it, but I did! Dr. Jackson is incrdibly smart and can be intimidating, but is a great teacher and is always open to talking with you/helping you! Never be afraid to ask him for help.

    Course highlights:

Completing the course and learning about electron orbitals and atomic relationships!

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book! Do the homework! Ask for help, and utilize you tube videos!!!
