Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was a great class to take for anyone who is interested in music but music does not play a role in their academic focus. The course fulfilled a university requirement and is also interesting and fun. It is a course that gives a lot of information on the history of music.

    Course highlights:

The biggest highlight from this course was the two symphonies students had to attend and then write a critique about. This requirement was a great way to see what we had learned in class in action and was also an interesting out of the classroom experience.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice that can be given would be to have some background knowledge, but it is not necessary. Having a little background in music studies (such as being involved in band or choir) can be helpful in understanding some information.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class helps you learn all things music and opens your mind to all different types of music. I went into this class thinking that we would just learn boring music notes and terms, but it is so much more than that. The class opens your mind to all different types of music and gives you an appreciation for all types of music.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was a project we did, in which we had to make our own instruments. This project was very cool because you dont realize how many different ways that you can make music until you are forced to do it. I learned that music doesn't have to be produced in a studio, that it can be made by anything, anywhere you are.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure that you have all of your assignments in on time. Never be afraid to ask questions, and make the best out of the class, and you will learn a lot from it.
