    Course highlights:

Relying on yourself and working with your peers.

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The work and assignments might come off as simple at first, but as easy as it seems the teacher grades harshly so make sure make everything correct and neat.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Ditouras makes this class a blast! In the past years, she has made the topic have a theme of food. The final research paper can be about a food based topic of your choice, and she provices wonderful resources throughout the class to make it easier.

    Course highlights:

The content of this course was wonderful. Every week you will learn more about writing, English, and food from all over the world. Professor Ditouras makes the process of writing a research essay less intimidating by having step-by-step assignments to guide students through. Instead of choosing a random topic, or being stuck with something students don't care about, she relates the information to the real world. I learned a lot about culture and writing through the class. The professor also offers ample extra credit opportunities if English is not your best subject; she gives extra credit points just for visiting the tutoring center. If you are lucky enough to have a class with her in a computer lab, she also gives you time in class to complete assignments and she is very flexible. This class makes sure that you are ready to go on to higher level English courses.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

She gives small assignments weekly and it's important not to procrastinate although it is easy to do because she is so lenient. Don't take advantage of her flexibility because you will end up falling behind. Complete the small assignments because the points really add up in the end. Take advantage of the extra credit; they are usually simple journals or assignments. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask or visit the turtoring center. Additionally, you should be very careful when citing your sources because MLA formatting is very important in this course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you need to take English 102 at Schoolcraft College, this course is right for you! Professor Ditouras is an amazing professor who will make you feel included from Day 1. Professor Ditouras is so funny, easy to come to with anything, and she can COOK! Did I mention the entire course was food themed?! Since we were learning about food, looking at food, talking about food, and anything else you can do with food-Professor Ditrouas almost always brought us food so we would be sitting in puddles of drool and listening to everyone stomachs growling! If you have to take an English course or ANY course that Professor Ditouras teaches; trust me, that is the class for you!

    Course highlights:

I learned that there is A LOT more to food than just taste and appearance. Behind all our favorite foods is a reasoning for it's creation whether is be religious, cultural, etc. This course was very informative and provided me with information that I can actually use!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

We all need food to live, and for the majority of people (the normal ones), food is a lot more than just "fuel for the body." Food is delicious, we all love to eat. If you like food, this course is for you!
