Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a very interesting class and fun to learn about what makes a society work and how different cultures value different things and interact in different ways.

    Course highlights:

I learned that there are many different cultures and not all of them value money as much as we do or they have a different standard for marriage. Like in India they have arranged marriages and they set up ads to try and marry someone without really dating them which is a huge difference from american dating and marriage

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book and study really hard because this is not an easy blow off course and you need to know the material well.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I'm in the middle of taking this course right now online. I don't have any lectures and I do all of the work online, but the discussions and papers that our professor has us write are really informative and helpful. He also has us take quizzes where we cannot just rely on the book for, but these are quizzes where we actually have to apply what we have read and what we have learned.

    Course highlights:

I really like watching the videos that he posts because a lot of them are newer and they apply to the people of today, which is really fascinating. I really like learning about the different ways that our parents and our society around us affects us and our decisions.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend not just reading the book, but going out and doing some of your own research because he has his students not just learn information, but actually go out and apply that information.

Highlights of this course, you get a better understanding of how the surroundings of your life, people, education, jobs ect. mold you. Even events in your life mold how you think and how you see the world as a whole.

    Hours per week:

    Advice for students:

If you need a Sociology class, this is a great class to start with. It gives you a good overall look into the role of sociology. It is a good starting point to dig deeper into higher level courses.
