    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

For any science major it is required, but this class can get very deep and interesting with reproduction, cells, mitosis, animals, human behavior. It answers the why!

    Course highlights:

I have gained a lot of knowledge with the mitosis and meiosis, I have also learned a lot about the different cells within different organisms.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to take the time to study and do not be ashamed to get help. This course does require your full time and effort and commitment.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The professor was amazing! Dr. Glass really knows her stuff, and takes the time both in class and out to explain whatever you're having trouble with. The labs were a little elementary, but the lectures were always interesting. The exams are entirely based on the study guide she gives. Extra credit opportunities as well! If you have to take Bio 1, take it with her. You'll gain a new favorite teacher.

    Course highlights:

This course basically covers everything in general biology, starting from the chemistry and working its way up to taxonomy. The powerpoints explicitly stated key ideas that would be on the exam, which made studying much easier. And even though my least favorite section (DNA replication) was taught, it was taught in a way that I finally understood.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The book is an asset, but not super necessary. If you read the section in the book before lecture it'll make things so much easier. I'd recommend knocking out the online homework through Pearson at the beginning of the semester, so you'll only have to focus on the exams and lab practicals. If you stay on top of the work, the possibility for an A is there. I could've failed the lab final and still have an A.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Steward was a great introduction to college level biology classes. He is passionate about what he teaches and makes you laugh while learning everything you need in both lab and lecture. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a biology class!

    Course highlights:

This course was an introduction to the major themes and processes of biology. Everything from taxonomical breakdown to DNA was covered and the labs corresponded to the lecture each week.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to study, as it is still a biology course. As long as you stay on top of your homework and notes from lectures you will pass this class. Don't let yourself slack and you will pass with an A!
