Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I took this course online, and it was a really big struggle. I've always been good at math, but online is a whole other story. Professor Torrey made the difficult parts easier and the easy parts fun. Questions were always answered in a timely fashion, and advice was available from every other student through the online forum. I would highly recommend this teacher to anyone.

    Course highlights:

Everything was a highlight. This was my first college math course I took and it really set the tone for me. I learned that statistics is insanely complex and that you definitely need to do every weeks work and really pay attention and study because it's a building block course; each lesson is built off of the previous one.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Focus. Don't wait until the last minute, or not study, because like I said previously, it's a building clock course, every lesson is built off of the previous one and by the end of the semester/quarter, you won't have a clue what's going on, if you didn't learn the skills from the beginning of the course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor makes this class possible. Without her I would have really struggled. She was very available even for the online version. The textbook was not so easy to work with. The online problem solving tools connected to the text book, for doing the homework were very helpful however.

    Course highlights:

basic statistics needed as a prerequisite and helpful in general to not be completely in the dark on statistics

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to do the work and meet deadlines

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course is required for most students. It's more based on logic than real math. It's good for people who aren't confident in their math skills.

    Course highlights:

I learned about statistical methods. One lesson involved counting the chocolate chips in cookies (and then eating them).

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't depend on the instructor to explain things to you - use the Math Center if you are confused.
