    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was a 12-weeks online course. We had quizzes and online discussion boards every week with exams on every other week. The online discussions stimulate students to do more research on a topic they find interesting in the chapter they are reading for the week. Online discussions can help the students to remember the materials better. Additionally, the course instructor is quick to reply to any questions the students may have about the course.

    Course highlights:

The fetal pig dissections and certain topics from the discussion boards were the highlights of the course. The fetal dissections were very fascinating, and through the pig dissections I learned that our pancreas are actually behind our stomach and the kidneys are actually large. I learned various topics through the discussion boards. One of the things I learned through the discussion boards is the obesity risks and causes. Eating too much protein, for example, can lead to obesity.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This 12-weeks course requires dedication to the study of the materials. The subject is deep. The students will need to spend several hours each day to study the materials for the week. For the labs, the students will need to read ahead to know what are needed for a lab and to know how many days a lab requires. The students will need to plan accordingly.
