    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Rankins is a fabulous teacher! He keeps class entertaining and his style of teaching keeps everyone involved.

    Course highlights:

Before entering this class, I didn't like politics a whole lot. I learned a lot about the history of American politics and people, and I learned about my own political leanings. I am willing to talk about politics anytime now!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes in class and study ALL of them before the tests! Do not procrastinate either!!!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is awesome and I feel like I've learned more about our nation's past than I've ever known before. The teacher is great as well, but he pushes you to always try harder and do your best. You need to be a good worker to take this class, but overall it's a great experience!

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the class are being able to connect with your fellow classmates and the teacher, and also be able to learn at a fast pace, while still being able to retain and understand it all!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To be able to be successful in this course, you must be able to work hard and really push yourself to do your best on every assignment and project. You also must put a lot of effort into the class, and learn how to prioritize your class work and social life.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course. Its rigor and informative quality will teach you a lot, both about the subject and yourself.

    Course highlights:

AP US History will give you a comprehensive context for America today. Rankins does a wonderful job of making every fact and anecdote you learn useful and relevant to the broader story of America. I'm a firm believer in the importance of learning history. It helps us to understand our present culture, economy, and political state, and APUSH is a great way to get that context and understanding. Also, Rankins tells good jokes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Please, do the readings, and make sure you're taking notes throughout the year. The closer you get the present in APUSH, the more complicated it tends to get, which is why it's so important you don't slack off (like I did!). Those last few months get really tough, but you never know what's going to be on the AP exam.
