Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you're interested in studying rocks and the earth, learning about the earth's shape and the way it formed, then this is definitely a course for you.

    Course highlights:

There's more to rocks than just the way it looks; in this course, you learn about the texture, the types, the special characteristics, and how each of them formed; along with the way the earth formed.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Heed the instructors advice in every way- use every study tool he gives you, and utilize the textbook. Dedicate your time, revisit the material, and you will be successful, but if you slack in any way or think you can slide by, you're wrong, unless you have a natural knack for noticing characteristics and memorizing textures the first time. Utilize open lab time to review material.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a challenging lab class. However, the teacher was amazing in helping students have a better understanding of the subject. Mr. Garwood's love and passion for teaching, and his time invested in the students' success are reflected by how hard students study and prepare for class.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was learning about minerals and plate tectonics, etc. I learned so much about our planet, rocks, various types of mineral formations, weathering, etc. After taking this class, I look at my surroundings with new eyes and appreciation.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

College is very hard and challenging but it is a rewarding experience when you apply yourself, and also communicate and engage with teachers and students. Study groups are a wonderful thing as it helps students prepare for exams. As students, it is also important to take the time and show appreciation for those teachers who make a positive impact in a students' life. Say "Thank You" and let teachers know how valuable they are, and encourage them also. Be a positive role model and influence and support one another in college. It helps.
