    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class as it is first of all required to complete many college degree. The class was challenging however it teaches a lot of skills useful in the professional setting. The teacher is great and the materials studied are pretty straight forward. The class will result in a better communication and writing skills necessary for any carrer path.

    Course highlights:

The class requires to write many essays about different topics. Through the class I have learned and acquired critical thinking and a better communication and writing skills. The class also involves presentations over a chosen research topic before the class. Beside communication and writing skills, the class also encourages public speaking.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

As for any other classes, the student needs to be committed to the learning, ready to put extra hours in working on essays, ask peers, tutors and others people's opinion to broaden the student viewpoint and ideas. All you need to do is avoid to be lazy.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because Professor Roth made taking online English do able. He works very well with each and every student and wants nothing but for you to succeed. If you prove to him that you want to learn and to grow, he will do whatever is needed to make things work for you.

    Course highlights:

Honestly, this course was more of a refresher for me. I have been out of school for 6 years. This course helped me to remember the process of writing and how to properly write a sentence. With today's new technology, it is hard to not write an essay in the same language we speak and text. It opens your eyes to how technology has progressed.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give students considering this course would be to make sure and time manage. English 101 isn't a super difficult class, but it is time consuming. You have to do a ton of reading and same goes for the writing. With good time management skills and by not procrastinating, you will make it through.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Jim Roth is an amazing instructor. I am taking online classes, which can be more difficult and the whole layout of the course was perfect. I was never confused by what needed to be done or when it was done.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the amazing books that we read. "What Matters in America" and "Land of the Blind". I learned a lot about how social media is affecting our every day lives and how big of an impact it has on us. I've always known it was an "issue" but it really helped put things into perspective for me!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate. Take the time necessary to complete assignments and always take notes.
