Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As a freshman taking your first AP course, one can be easily intimidated. However, Mr. Sanchez explains important concepts in a way that students can easily decipher. Human geography is a class that teaches you how the world works, and it that process you gain so much more than that. You gain the ability to see the world from another's eyes. That is the most invaluable lesson one could ever learn.

    Course highlights:

Diving into the different cultures of the world seems like it would get repetitive, but one would be surprised to see not only how different everything really is, but also how everything is connected. In a society where so many things seem to clash, it is a nice reminder that humans are not as different as some like to claim.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This course requires individual work and commitment as much as it requires a knowledgable teacher. If you are committed to sitting down each night and outlining, then the 5 on the AP exam that everyone is chasing will come easily.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course. It is a Freshman year course at my school and I feel it is an excellent way to start taking AP classes. Mr. Sanchez is a fantastic teacher that taught excellent strategies for outlining and retaining material.

    Course highlights:

Human Geography teaches how the world is interconnected and the effects of globalization. I learned the pros and cons of globalization. Different cultures and their way of life were discussed in detail. By nature, the class is eye opening about how impoverished many areas of the world are.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Outline, Outline, Outline! I cannot stress the importance of reading the chapters, taking notes, and making flashcards. If you want to be successful taking this class, it requires effort. Although it is considered an easier AP class, do not take that as an excuse to treat it lightly.
