She is a great helper when it comes to going on to the next level.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of the work, it is tough and it will make you think deeper than any class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because of the abundant information I learned about the different writing styles throughout history (such as Victorian, Romantic, etc.). I also learned how to write several types of argumentative essays while focusing on the the analysis of the author. I would highly encourage this class if you want a solid introduction to college-level writing. This course helped me establish a sense of academic writing skills that I didn't have before.

    Course highlights:

The improvement of my writing skills throughout this course was amazing. Not only did I learn effective methods to analyze different works of literature, I also learned how to incorporate college-level diction to form my analysis into a successful essay. By looking at different poetry and other works of literature throughout history, I found it valuable to see how we got to today's present state of writing. There is a presentation where you learn a specific time period of literature anf present it to the class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering taking this course, I would greatly encourage you to do so because of how fun and beneficial it is. Also, it does get you dual credit that you could use in college so you're saving money! I would advise a student to be ready to write in a fast and effective manner because there are about three essays that you have to write in class. Also, be ready for one final paper and a presentation about a specific time period with a partner. Overall, the class was pretty simple if you get your work done and don't procrastinate.
