Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was a very insightful class. I never knew how much work my writing needed. After walking out of that class, I can confidently say that I have seen my own growth as an English nerd when before, I thought I knew everything.

    Course highlights:

I learned so many literary terms and tones that at times, my head would explode (not literally of course!). However, I catch myself spotting them while reading and appreciating the author's meticulous efforts to get their point understood.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Honestly, just study your terms and tones. A few practice essays would never hurt either. I got a 3 on the AP Exam, but I know I could have done better. My only tip is to focus in class and to pay attention to your critiques as well as the things you do well. You will become a much better essayist.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was one of the most difficult classes I've ever taken, however this taught me to work extremely hard to acquire the grades that I wanted. This course taught me how to incorporate skills into my essays that would help my AP score.

    Course highlights:

This course gave me more knowledge that any other class I've taken. It reviewed, as well as introduced terms crucial to writing. This course is very essay heavy and because of that, you become an essay writing pro. In addition to writing essays, students also practice and prepare for the AP test by answering numerous AP multiple choice questions throughout the year.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't get frustrated!! Even though it's a difficult class, it prepares you so much for the AP test and it is the most rewarding class I've taken. Because it is a challenging class, when you see that your hard work pays off, it's so rewarding!
