    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was extremely beneficial to me in the way that it prepared me to write at the collegiate level. We wrote essays all of the time, which really helped me get used to the style of writing that was expected. The multiple choice practice was also very helpful. It was nice to have examples of what the AP exam was going to look like in advance.

    Course highlights:

This class was hard work, but I learned that the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. I loved the class discussions; they were always so entertaining. The Socratic seminars were also very interesting and engaging. I learned more about history in AP Lang, due to the heavy use of nonfiction texts.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When Mrs. Wasser gives you suggestions on your essays, take her advice and apply it to our writing. Do not get discouraged when your scores are low in the beginning; they will get better, I promise. I knew going into this class that it was going to be difficult, and it was, but don't let that discourage you from trying. Even if you don't pass the exam, you are still going to leave that class better prepared for college than if you didn't try at all.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP English Language offers a beneficiary intro to the world of english, and the english we will be exposed to in college, and other future institutes. It offers understanding of a wide range of literary terms and their uses; from literary devices, to writing historical essays.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course include a more in-depth understanding of various aspects of reading and writing, and is exceptionally preparative compared to regular or honors english classes. I learned a lot from this course and scored a 5 on the exam as well.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practicing writing is of the utmost importance, but watching the clock and finding that mental routine to fit everything within the allotted time is equally important.
