    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it will teach about all the different cancers there are. It also will teach about how to prevent it as much as you can. The teacher is amazing and she will make sure you understand the material very well. It also broadens the road of different possibly medical jobs people could be interest in.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course are the experiments we do (culture, electrophoresis). This helps show how these doctors and scientist figure all these cancers out and they help you realize what you are doing for the class. They will help a lot in understanding the material as well.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering this course, make sure you study. If you do not study, you will be bombarded by everything the teacher pills up information on you. She goes fast pace so learn how to understand her as she goes a mile a minute when talking. You'd also want to finish every assignment given to you on time. Eventually all the work she gives you, catches up and buries you.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it gives you hands on labs with visual learning, like they do in hospital, along with the fact that every student is eligible to take the BACE exam, for free, allowing you to become a Lab Technician during or right after high school.

    Course highlights:

Well it's only been the first semester, but so far I love everything that we did and learned. There is no such thing as too much knowledge and in this class there is a lot of learning, from diagnosing to stitching you become a doctor in this class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It's hard but important and great for people that have a passion for science, passion is what gets you through tough times in the course as it should for any career you choose.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is interesting and it widens your eyes on how many branches of jobs there is in the medical field. This class teaches you how to prevent infections, diseases, and possibly gentic problems from occuring. This class and teacher are really fun and I really recommend the class with this specific teacher.

    Course highlights:

This course had so many days where there would be tough times to grasp what we were supposed to do, but a mojority of the time it was fairly okay to go through the procedures and do the labs correctly. We learn about genetic counseling and that had changed my view on the subject after learning about it and pretending to be genetic counselors. Another highlight would be that we get to make gel elctrofreezes and use micropipets, all this is really interesting and helps you open your eyes where you would like to go into the medical field if you are looking in there. we learn so much in this class but its mostly about diseases, DNA sequencing, and prevention. We learn about new ways that scientists are trying out to prevent diseases that can't be cured, such as AIDS. there is so much that we learn in this class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

About 2/3 of the class are labs so you would need to read the procedure the night before and make sure you understand it because the teacher goes stright into it when you get into the classroom. Also make sure you study every day after school about the material you did, even the labs because that is guareented on the test. Tests arent like right after the lab or the learning, its about 2-3 weeks after we learn it, so its helpful to be studying every night. This class is presentation and power point heavy, so you would need to know your stuff because the teacher doesnt like to be presented something with the presentors back to her. Also DO NOT leave anything for the last minute because by the time the lab questions are due you have so much stuff to do on top of that. spread them out and warok together with your partners. Also pick two- three people who will keep you on task, because if not you will become lost and none of your group will know either.
