Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Being an art major, learning all about the history of art and how it came to be today is very important for me. The course covered art from about 500 BC to the early Renaissance Era. It was a lot of information to take in, but the way it was presented to the class in a concise organized manner, it didn't feel overwhelming. We would have a lot of reading to do at home to make sure we fully understood all of the information covered in class, but it was so interesting to me that I didn't mind it.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this class was definitely finding out about new artists that I can get inspiration from for my own art. It was surprising to me how much I learned from this class that I could apply to my own artwork, which made me very happy.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give going into this class is to not get overwhelmed when handed the syllabus and seeing how much you are expected to read in one semester. Coming from someone who has been through it, it really is not as crazy as it seems and the more immersed and fascinated you get in the history, the more enjoyable the class is overall.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it really helps you to learn the basics of the art field that you're delving into. You want to be able to have a strong foundation to your future work.

    Course highlights:

The highlights to this course was the focus on drawing from observation. These are key fundamentals that every artist needs to learn in order to advance further in their art.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give is to preserver through this course because if they're anything like me, and I don't personally enjoy drawing still lives, I don't think I would be the artist I am today if I hadn't taken this course. It helped me to develop a much better eye to detail and making sure that everything in my composition mattered.
