Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Throughout the course of the class, I was challenged to do more and to succeed in the class. The coursework was rigorous and helped to prepare me for college level work. The method of teaching was exceptional and enriching.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course was the readings and essays. In particular, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn stood out. We had a discussion between the old translation and modern translation at the closing of the book. We also did a research paper. This paper helped me to correctly tackle a research paper. The process took about 3 months, which we mainly did outside of class.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to be driven to a higher level when thinking of taking this course. It is more rigorous than a level 2 class. However, in my experience, taking the higher level class helps later on in high school and college.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to all incoming students, the teacher was excellent and the material was interesting and intriguing. If there was one thing I could change would be the length, at Technical high school the period was approximately 45 minutes. I would make the class from an hour to and hour and a half depending on the schedule of students.

    Course highlights:

In this class we learned many things about grammar. We read Angela's Ashes and the Great Gadsby. We learned about rhetorical devices and how to use them in our writing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Always listen in class and take notes. I found it helpful to record the lecture so I could refer back to it when I was completing the homework assigned.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This Course covers all major literature that examines views throughout history. If you like discovery learning, this course is for you.

    Course highlights:

One of the major highlights was Mrs. Phelps having the students examine raisins and list all the adjectives they could think of when examining the raisins. And then comparing the whole lesson to the Harlem Rennaisance!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to keep up on outside readings and poetry because it will really help you in the class.
