Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course was an eyeopener to the politics and the government system that run our Nation. I took this course during the midst of the Election and it brought about knowledge of our electoral college, the reasoning behind political strategies and the foundation of our government. With the knowledge obtained in this course I was able to apply political theories to the current presidential elections. The course not only taught us about american politics, but it challenged us to apply these newfound concepts in real life scenarios, such as a SIMEX.

    Course highlights:

I learned a great knowledge about our government, its powers, the power of the people, our electoral college, and the overall status of our nation. This course took a person with very limited knowledge on our government system, and introduced them to the various forms of political reasoning, the thought process behind political agendas, and overall the effects that policies have on each other and on the people. This course allowed me to apply newfound knowledge and apply it to current day scenarios both in and out of the Armed forces.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed it is essential to do the readings. It is also important to know the course objectives. The objectives tie into the readings and are what you will be tested on during tests and the final. The discussions in class are very interactive and allow the students to discuss the readings and what they felt were important objectives of the readings. This also allows the instructor to assess your knowledge of the material. If you feel you are struggling seek additional instruction early on. The course builds on itself. If you have a weak foundation you will struggle in the class.
