Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a good and necessary course to take to achieve and participate in higher level courses.

    Course highlights:

The highlights are when you are able to finally have a grasp on what you are doing and being able to do high level math problems.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you have trouble with math then maybe you should take a few more lower level classes. If you are on the border, then you should try it just to understand what skill level you are at.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The nature of this class can be difficult, but Dr. Murray proves that having the right teacher makes all the difference. She can be tough, but also fair and understands that on occasion, we all have difficulties or make mistakes. How can you not love a teacher who lets you redeem yourself by bringing her a box of chocolate chip cookies? The cookies are given to her students as rewards for participating in her class, almost like dog treats. She is always available to her students for anything they might need. She is one of those teachers who will stay in my thoughts a long time after high school.

    Course highlights:

Perseverance. At a point, even those who have innate math abilities will encounter some difficulties with Pre-Calculus (and later, AP Calculus, which I now have). It can be frightening to realize you have hit a wall. You can not feel that asking for help is a sign of weakness. Actually, it is a sign of strength, You have acknowledged you are having difficulties and want to move past them. Upper level classes as this teach you more that college level math. They teach you to push and apply yourself, which are skills that can be applied to all subjects and may aspects of life.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be open minded about yourself and recognize the first signs of difficulties with the subject matter. If you do encounter difficulties, do not wait to get a competent tutor. Pride will be the death of you. Accept help from anyone and anywhere.
