    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Professor Purvis has so much passion and experience in the field of journalism and he truly makes this class a joy to go to every week. All of the material is covered in class via powerpoint, so if you show up and take notes there is no way not to pass. The course as a whole consists of 4 major assignments, three tests and a couple of extra credit assignments.

    Course highlights:

This course focused on the different kinds of media and how they are used in society every day. It was really interesting to see how there is almost never a minute where we aren't exposed to media in some sort of way as we go throughout our daily lives.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to go to class and take lots of notes, and don't underestimate the amount of studying before a test - they are all fill in the blank or open response WITHOUT a word bank, so soak up all of the information that you can. I found that flashcards worked really well.
