    Course Overview:

    The class effectively teaches students about the English language. Through different readings and writings, students gain greater appreciation for language.

    Course highlights:

    A personal highlight was reading Candide and writing about it. From learning how to become a better writer and reader, this class had been very informative.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Make sure to read the material given to you and do anything assigned to you. It is hard to keep up in a class where you fail to do the work.

    Course Overview:

    This class provides background knowledge that we should always have. Literature is written works, especially those considered of superior or lasting artistic merit. Without Shakespeare or Charles Dickens there would be no foundation to be built on.

    Course highlights:

    The highlights of this course include written works from the students. My literary skills improved from depicting written works. I am now able to analyze a text and explain the meaning as a whole.

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

    Definitely read the books the teacher hands you. The books will have to be used as reference for many topics. It is crucial to have the knowledge for the essays.

    Course Overview:

    The teacher was is great! Very to the point and exact. I enjoy both the subject matter and the lessons taught. The teacher did a great job of getting the entire class to understand everything by teaching it in various ways that best fit the class.

    Course highlights:

    The best part was the book discussions! I learned that there is far more meaning to many books that we take for granted in today's society. Reading truly is a wonderous thing.

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    In order to reap the most benefits and excel in this course, you have to be willing to approach every discussion with an open mind. And READ! You won't be able to fully participate if you don't read the books he gives, making it really hard to utilize them on the AP exam at the end of the year.
