Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

While Ms. Gordy does give a lot of work she does so to teach a lot of the course material and she teaches it all very well so when the tests come around they are very easy to do. She also does quite a few labs and interacts with her students very well.

    Course highlights:

We learned a lot in the course because of how the teacher teaches. We do a lot of different labs where we learn not only about the fish of the ocean but how the moon interacts with it, the actual waves itself, hurricanes, and everything anyone would need to know about the ocean.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the work she gives during the week, it would make all of the finals and tests she give incredibly easy because the work from the class including the video questions will directly be on the test. When it comes down to chapter views a lot of it is found directly on the previous work.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really really enjoyed this class, it was honestly one of my favourites. If you do take it, I recommend taking the honors course - it is harder, but well worth the effort. The class was beyond interesting, frequently interactive, and had enjoyable course material. I cannot recommend this class enough, please take it! Also, remember to put your name on everything, and bring colouring materials if in her Honors course!

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed the beginning, although some might say they were in a rush to get to the animal portion of the course. I really loved learning about Jacques Cousteau and Robert Ballard (to this day, I want Ballard's autograph. he is so cool!!!). We also watched a lot of interesting videos, i even asked her the titles of them multiple times, so I could look them up later.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Put your name on EVERYTHING. If you are taking her Honors course, make sure to bring coloured pencils/colouring materials. Sit in the front, don't go to the bathroom too often. When doing the chapter questions, get them done early!!! I often got a zero simply because i forgot about it.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Marine Biology is a fun, interesting class. Ms. Gordy is a great teacher, and there is never a dull moment in her class. She always has something planned, which keeps you busy and on task. Plus, the subject of Marine Biology is pretty interesting itself.

    Course highlights:

Well field trips were always fun, and highlights of the year. I learned lots in that class. There was lots of graphing, critical thinking and creativity, which really helped me learn about the subject.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do it. It's a fun course, and at the end of it. You will look back at it, and be happy you did.
