Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course expanded my awareness to different styles in literature. I began with a narrow conception of structure and one piece at a time learned new elements that will carry me well into college and beyond. I have enjoyed writing for years now and have been active in writing clubs, reading and verbal expression toward literature. This class takes a deep dive into writing skills through analysis and argumentative essay writing. I give this class "two thumbs up".

    Course highlights:

For me, personally, the highlight of American Literature and Composition was the journey through all types of historical periods. History provides the 20/20 vision we need to more forward and create change in the world. The journey takes you through timelines that allow your imagination to bloom with color, fragrance, textured lenses and theatrical expression. I realized you cannot move forward without understand where you have been.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My best advice would be to keep an open mind and be prepared to accept alternate approaches and expression through writing. By keeping an open mind you will increase the tools in your tool belt and better understand tone, imagery, symbolism, style and themes. This class is like driving. We may all take different roads to arrive at the same destination but each one was correct in its own way.
