    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course due to the fact that it is thought provoking in crucial in order to understand ourselves and those around us.

    Course highlights:

Why is it important to be pensive and to be constantly thinking? Anyone can memorize a passage or terms but what makes a person different is how imaginative they can be, how innovative they are. Through imagination and understanding the source of improvement and advancements are unlocked. Why is it important to understand oneself? Well, in order to understand why we fight for what we want, or why we place effort in things we must, we must acknowledge ourselves, our potential, and what valuable to us. In addition, to reach the awareness of said wanted goals, we face and improve our weaknesses and strengthen our strengths. Sociology helped me realize that there are many types of people in this world. As time moves on, we must accept ourselves, be self-aware and think in order to improve ourselves as well as the people around us.

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in any course one must feel comfortable in the environment they will be learning and studying in. Get to know your professor. By establishing a relationship with one's professor, one is able to appreciate why they are there and your role as a student. A student does not mean growing only academically, it's about growing as a person in general. When you go to your professor, they are able to better guide you and understand your academic and even personal struggles. They are there to help, don't be afraid to ask for help. They will be appreciative of scholarly behavior. If you have trouble with a topic in class, make sure your professor knows. The professor will be your best source of understanding this topic. It also allows the professor to better explain what ever is puzzling to the class. By helping yourself you can also help your peers! Get to know your peer students. Although it may be frightening at first, know that every student wants the same thing: success. By establishing a relationship with your peers, one is able to be cultivated by other personalities and grow from them. Friendship is a wonderful thing, one can grow and have positive influences on others. Form study groups and really look out for each other. College and life in general is easier with a support system. Everyone experiences up and downs, that's why it's important to be there for a friend. College is an experience of a life time! Find productive friends and encourage those are discouraged! Be a helping hand and remember your goals, be proud of where you have gotten and smile!
