Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course only because the professor teaching this course is very flexible. However, there are a lot of mini writing assignments due every other week but it helps improve your overall writing and reading skills. So in this class, what you will do is basically read essays written by "experts" and respond in a form of an essay, whether you agree or disagree with their claims, why you chose one over the other and basically give evidence from that same essay to support why you agree or disagree with them.

    Course highlights:

Experience is what I gained from this course. For me, I used to "hate" writing essays because of the fact that I was a "perfectionist" when it came to my essays. I always wanted my essay to be the best, I mean without any errors whatsoever and so I would stress myself out when I got a grade I wasn't expecting like a B+ or even A- instead of a solid A or even better A+. However, when I took this course, my perspective about writing changed. I began to realize that, it was okay to write about what you believe in and that not everyone believes in the exact same thing I believe in and that was okay too beacasue we are all different. The fact that I believe that, say, "experts tend to operate outside of their comfort zone", doesn't means everyone has to believe in the same idea because I have strong evidence to prove that. This course is all about how you effectively support and respectfully disagree with other people's belief. So if you give it your best shot, then you got this.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This is a good course to take if you are someone who loves writing and brainstorming ideas and also if you are someone who would like to improve on your reading and writing skills, writing skills importantly. It is important that you finish all your assignment on time and hand it in during the due date to avoid any deductions from your grade. Just be open to learn and go to office hours. Also make good use of the writing center if your school have one.
