Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is the reason that I fell in love wither theatre. Rob is a phenomenal teacher. He gives critcism to all in a way that is not negative, but makes students want to be motivated. He was super funny and kind. Probably one of the few classes that I looked forward to going to.

    Course highlights:

This class forces students to be able to use different techniques while acting. Also forced young actors to memorize lines to perfection on deadlines.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not wait until the last minute to start memorizing your lines. Just because your performance is not a test or quiz does not make it any less important. Due dates are closer than they appear.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend taking this course, especially as a fine arts credit. Rob is an amazingly patient and considerate instructor. He understands everyone's skill and comfort levels but subtlety pushes you to a higher level. I thought I was a decent actor before this course but he elevated my craft to a higher level in the most patient manner. He never pushes you into anything you are uncomfortable with which is something that is very rare in a professor.

    Course highlights:

My favorite moments of this course was method acting which is essentially striving to feel or go to the mental state that your character is at in the script. This can be off-putting to many people who do not like to feel deep emotion. I noticed that when I attempted this style of acting, feeling these deep emotions help me deal and heal with the hard emotions that I have put off.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to be open and do not close yourself to ideas that differ from yours but rather try to understand (not agree with necessarily) those ideas that seem out of the norm. This will help you outside of the classroom to have respect towards different walks of life.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is the reason why I love theatre so much today. I think the professor was one of the reasons why I enjoyed the class. Robert Gander is the definition of a great teacher. He made the class enjoyable and something to look forward to every day.

I learned how to be confident when acting. I also loved doing the monoluges. It forced me to not be afraid of the stage.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be afraid to be yourself and have fun with every assignment given!
