    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Lanorio is a very thorough teacher who genuinely cares about her students. She is very understanding of circumstances that affect a students performance in the class and is available to answer any questions you may have.

    Course highlights:

Lanorio is a very visual person, so along with the powerpoint slide she will often reinforce a hard concept by drawing it on the board. She does multiple practice problems for difficult concepts and breaks down hard terms. I learned a lot about solutions and chemical equilibrium.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to write down everything she puts on the board, not just what is on the powerpoint slides. Often, she provides extra information or ways to simplify and remember difficult subjects. Also, include as many visuals and diagrams as you can in your notes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Parajuli really wants the best for his students. His accent is slightly difficult to understand but if you put in the work you will succeed! His SI leaders are also extremely helpful when it comes to test prep.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were probably seeing my work pay off when it came to test grades. I can honestly say I actually learned in this class and I will remember the content for a very long time!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to the SI sessions and really work on the homework! Because the homework is a good percentage of your grade, it is super important when it comes to your final grade.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is the basic building blocks to any science career; its help establish those tiny connection that will build upon each other later in my science career.

    Course highlights:

My favorite section was learning about pH and what a pH actually is and how its affected by certain factors like adding a base or an acid. It was interesting to realize how this applies to real life for example foods and medicines.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Put the time into practicing problems and actually try to understand the concepts rather than memorizing how to do the math. Try explaining topics to a fellow classmate if they can understand at least 50% of what you just said then you understand the material.
