    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. The professor always made the subject matter relevant to her students by providing examples and performing mini "experiments" during lecture. For example, in the sleep unit, she gave us suggestions on how as college students, we could apply what we learned in class to help us get a better sleep which I felt not only helped me sleep better but better understand the material as well.

    Course highlights:

We covered such a wide variety of subjects! I really enjoyed learning about the functions of the brain and why we feel and do things the way we do.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make flashcards! Her tests are fairly easy and she provides you a study guide for each one but flashcards really helped me to review.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Not only is the professor interested in actually helping you succeed in this class, but she also is constantly engaging you in the most outside-of-the-box ways!

    Course highlights:

The highlight was getting to learn all about why the brain affects people in different ways and having fun and getting good grades while doing so.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are struggling with any of the coursework or material, do not hesitate to go see the professor during office hours! She is there to help you!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Even if you aren't really interested in Psych and are just taking it for a gen ed, Dr. Cousins makes it super interesting with videos and examples. She tries to make it relatable to anyone but is also very knowledgeable and passionate about psychology.

    Course highlights:

I already knew a lot of psychology going into this from self study, sociology, linguistics, and work in a research lab. It might be a bit harder for someone with less background knowledge. 1 to 2 tests are dropped though so even if you start out on a bad foot you can make it up. Dr. Cousins and the graduate TAs are frequently available for office hours and are helpful if you don't understand what's going on.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I already knew a lot of psychology, so I probably only put about and average of 1 hour work into it per week. Really though it was more like 5 hours when there was a test and 0-1 every other week (there were a few quick recitation assignments). Dr. Cousins takes everything pretty much straight from the book and the book does a good job explaining things, so if you're stuck just read the chapters and it should help. Otherwise, just complete and review the study guide Dr. Cousins gives you and make sure you understand terms and examples rather than just memorizing them and you should be good.
