    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

General Chemistry is a challenging course but it helps prepare the mind. It's not just about memorizing it's about applying concepts to solve mysteries.

    Course highlights:

Quantum mechanics was very interesting to me particularly. We always want solid answer in life but as Heisenberg discovered there are uncertainties in life.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read and take notes! Skimming pages does not cut it. Write down problems step by step just because you look at it does not mean you will remember it.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Powell is extremely engaging during her lectures, and makes it easy to take good notes over the topics that are important. She is also very nice when it comes to easy questions and never degrades anyone for asking questions that are seemingly "dumb".

    Course highlights:

Professor Powell encourage working with others during class when answering questions, which allows students to learn from each other and ensure that they will get the answer right. Professor Powell also does not require you to buy the Chemistry textbook for her course.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to understand the Sapling problems that are given and go to office hours if you need assistance. Taking notes during lectures is really helpful when working on the Sapling homework problems.
