Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Recommend it, because it gives you deeper understanding of chemistry in general and you get to learn and rhetorically make connections between what is being taught and what is happening in the real world.

    Course highlights:

This course allowed me to think more critically in terms of molecular level of chemistry and be able to connect what I have learned in class with what I see in the real world.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Be very patient and please do not freak out when you encounter challenging problems. Think of it like this: the more challenging and the more time it takes to solve a problem, the more knowledge you are obtaining.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course will test your limits but will allow you to improve as a thinker and a student. It is a very difficult course but is worth it in the end!

    Course highlights:

Highlights were probably labs with TA's. If you prepare for them, they're a breeze. I also learned new test taking skills that have helped me in other courses.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Take it! Study study study every day and find new ways to learn things. Do not get caught up on what you don't understand and get ready to learn new test taking skills!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The teacher is very methodical with her teaching technique and truly enjoys teaching her students.

    Course highlights:

Compared to high school chemistry, the course is so much more challenging. However, with the challenge comes an immensely more in-depth understanding of concepts and a master of the material. I came out realizing that chemistry is the underlying link between physics and biology, and ultimately helps understand the various phenomena and properties we learned in other classes. This included anything from the simplest water surface tension, to the why ATP is the energy molecule of choice for most cells.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Coming to lecture helps you understand material, and she clearly highlights what is needed for tests. Do your best to do all practice problems and understand the theory behind them. In the end, chemistry is as much about conceptual principles as it is about calculations and equations!
