    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Best professor at UWT. Dr. Wills doesn’t make ECON420 easy, but when you get to ECON421 the real fun begins. He uses real-world examples to explain economic theory, the Fed, economic policies, etc. Not sure if he’d be surprised or proud I eventually started my career as a bond analyst (I struggled with a lot of related concepts in 420 but aced my Final paper in his 421 class)

    Course highlights:

He doesn’t do textbooks... both 420 and 421 were lecture-heavy and he lectures to the pace of the class. He doesn’t just teach you the math, he also uses real-world examples to reinforce it. At the time, we were just in the aftermath of the global financial crisis so there were plenty of examples to go around. But he also had us write a paper on any financial crisis prior to the Great Depression to reinforce the oft saying “history doesn’t necessarily repeat itself, it merely rhymes.” I also learned a lot about Canada, hockey, and whiskey...

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

420 is tough to get through but stick with it because 421 might be the best class you’ll take in college.
