Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

My senior year in high school I finished a semester early by taking both semesters of my English course in a single semester. My teacher was kind and offered extra credit and help often. Getting ahead in her courses was no problem, despite some not particularly easy lessons. In the end the class was without much difficulty and offered rather interesting reading material such as Mary Shelley's Frankenstien and excerpts from the epic of Beowulf.

    Course highlights:

I believe the highlight of this course was the reading material, particularly Beowulf. We rewrote a portion of the epic in modern language for a project which was actually quite fun. I learned about poetic language and for extra credit wrote my own poem. Interpreting symbols and drawing parallels was enjoyable and with my teacher's guidance it was inspiring.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In this class to succeed one would need a more creative mindset. A willingness to be able to read sometimes rather archaic language would help. The reading material however can be rather interesting so any projects can be somewhat enjoyable.
