Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I will always recommend Journalism 108 because it really submerges you into the whole journalism experience. This class was linked to the "VVC Rampage" which was the campus newspaper released every 2-3 weeks. Being apart of this class made me a "reporter" for the newspaper, and it required me to go out and report on various things going on around campus. I reported on subjects like sports, arts, and student-staff gatherings. It was a great way to get an introduction to the world of journalism and reporting while also being informative enough in providing the skills to publish an actual campus-wide newspaper.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course had to be seeing my name and article in each issue of the newspaper. I was able to read through each of my articles while also using the articles of my peers and improve my journalism skills. This course really gave you a taste of what it would be like to be a reporter in the real world.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read, reread, proofread for others and have others proofread your articles. The biggest thing about this course was teamwork and working together to bring out the best in all of us. There was a large improvement in the overall reporting quality and writing skills throughout the class mainly because we were all there to make each other better.
